Holiday Property in Murcia - The Local Area

Murcia, Spain
When you arrive in the region of Murcia, you will discover one of south-east Spain's best kept secrets... blessed by areas of outstanding natural beauty, more than 3,000 hours of sunshine and pleasant temperatures all year round.
The Province of Murcia has restrictions on height and density relating to property development making Murcia a real jewel in the crown of Spain. Not for Murcia and Costa Calida the high rises and over development. Agriculture is still a large part of Murcia and if you are cheeky you can always find a free windfall orange. Travel around Murcia and spot the windmills, many of which are still in use. Very Quaint.
Murcia has just over 240 km of coastline: golden sandy beaches, coves alternate with rocky shores and sheer, craggy cliffs.
As a geographical accident of nature we find La Manga strip, a coastal strip of land, which, bar a few connecting channels, or narrows, completely closes off the Mar Menor lagoon from the Mediterranean. You can stand on La Manga Strip and have the Mar Menor on your left and the Mediterranean on the right side of you.
The Mar Menor is the largest salt water lagoon in Europe. Its name means ' Little Sea' and is noted for its water sports and its safe beaches for the children.
The Murcian coast line offers on the one hand unprotected natural Mediterranean shores and on the other small coves with calm, placid warm waters of the Mar Menor. Sand dunes, beaches, salt-water lagoons, mud flats... the Murcia coastline includes numerous places of unquestionable interest to the naturalist. Not surprisingly many of these have been declared Protected Natural Areas, spots where even in our times you can find local species of flora and fauna, such as the Sabina mora, a local tree variety, or the fartet, a tiny, unique species of fish.
La Manga Club is a fantastic area of Murcia made up of many small Resorts making La Manga Club a varied area with lots of restaurants, nightlife and sports facilities. Part of La Manga Club is a millionairres paradise but you can still find an affordable property enabling you to join with them in owning a Spanish property on La Manga Club if you so wish.
La Manga Club is where the England Football Team train. Many famous people own properties on La Manga Club so you are likely to see many familiar faces round and about.
